Hong Kong, China— Recently, Shanghai MicroPort EP MedTech Co., Ltd. (referred to as MicroPort EP), the leading provider of comprehensive EP solutions, attended the 16th Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Session (referred to as APHRS) with more than 30 experts from over 10 countries in attendance, including America, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey, Japan, Kazakhstan, Argentina, etc. During its appearance in the APHRS annual meeting, MicroPort EP presented innovative product portfolio including Columbus™ 3D EP Navigation System V3  (referred to as Columbus™ System), FireMagic™ TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter (referred to as TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter), EasyStar™ High Density Mapping Catheter, EasyFinder™ 3D Steerable Curve Diagnostic Catheter, EasyLoop™ 3D Circular Mapping Catheter, PathBuilder™ Transseptal Introducer Set, and IceMagic™ CryoAblation Catheter which attracted wide attention from the attendees.

On the first day of APHRS, two Australian experts exchanged ideas with MicroPort EP’s staff in terms of Asia-Pacific electrophysiology market. One of them had hands-on experience with catheter products. He spoke highly of TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter for its’ easy maneuverability and outstanding flexibility. In addition, when seamlessly integrated with the Columbus™ System, they can provide active measurement of catheter-tissue contact force and catheter tip direction, calculate Energy Index (EI) based on key ablation parameters related to lesion formation in real-time. Another electrophysiologist from Korea said that he has full confidence in MicroPort EP brand and products, and look forward to cooperating with MicroPort EP to better serve patients. IceMagic™ CryoAblation Catheter also gained wide recognition from attendees of electrophysiologists and physicians. As the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) newly approved products in China, it featuring multi-channel surface temperature measurement and inner-balloon pressure monitoring function, which could be utilized to facilitate the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

In addition to exhibiting latest products, MicroPort EP attended APHRS-SCRN joint session with the topic of Novel Applications in Robotics, Remote Control, Automation and New 3D Mapping Integration in Catheter Ablation. The session highlighted 3 Live cases of long-distance telerobotic procedures. The first Live case mainly showcased the long-distance telerobotic pulmonary artery denervation (PADN) with Dr. Alexander Romanov remotely controlling robotic magnetic navigation system located in Russia. While in the second Live case, the bi-directional long-distance telerobotic AF and PVC procedures were successfully completed by the surgical team from Wuxi People’s Hospital in China and Fuwai Central China Cardiovascular Hospital, which marks the third successful remote telerobotic magnetic navigation for ablation of arrhythmias after the two cases completed by Ruijin Hospital in China and Meshalkin in Russia.

During the third Live case, Dr. Qi Jin from Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai, completed the demo by remotely controlling Columbus™ System, MagBot™ Magnetic Catheter and Genesis RMN™ System in MicroPort EP’s exhibition hall. He successfully demonstrated a series of functions, including construction, mapping and automated navigation through live streaming to the experts in attendance at the on-site venue in Hong Kong. Dr. Qi Jin efficiently constructed the left atrial cavity model by manipulating the magnetic field direction arrows of the Columbus™ System. He marked the positions of pulmonary veins and the posterior wall, demonstrated the entire process of the catheter being automatically guided to the target position by system. Throughout the process, the MagBot™ Magnetic Catheter responded quickly without any noticeable delay. This was the first public demonstration of the magnetic navigation electrophysiology technology developed by MicroPort EP.

After the demonstration, the president of MicroPort EP, Dr. Yiyong Sun delivered a comprehensive presentation, outlining MicroPort EP’s 17-year development journey in the field of electrophysiology, the comprehensive solution of electrophysiology products, and the progress of collaborative research and development projects with Stereotaxis™ company. Currently, MicroPort EP has completed the development and integration of the Columbus™ RMN module, which enables 3D remote control of the MagBot™ Magnetic Catheter for the 3D cardio cavity model construction, mapping and ablation. These products are expected to obtain NMPA’s approval in China.

To date, MicroPort EP products have been exported to more than 30 countries, in future, MicroPort EP will continue to build a differentiated product portfolio and expand its global reach, offering comprehensive solutions for diagnosis and therapy of EP interventions to more patients and doctors worldwide.
