Recently, a team consisting of Professors Ma Changsheng and Sang Caihua at Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University has successfully performed two AF ablation procedures with the first contact force sensing catheter independently developed by Shanghai MicroPort EP MedTech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MicroPort EP) - i.e. FireMagic™ TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter (hereinafter referred to as "TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter"). This is the first clinical use of the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter in the hospital.

The TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter, independently developed by MicroPort EP, is the first domestic made 3D contact force sensing RF ablation catheter. It was approved in December 2022 and successfully marketed, breaking the long-term monopoly of imported brands in the field of contact force sensing technology. With this catheter, a series of procedures for AF treatment have been successively achieved in various centers of China, and through the procedures, satisfactory outcomes and positive feedbacks from the operators have been obtained. This was a successful debut of the product at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, followed by successful procedures in the hospital in the two consecutive weeks, where the product was highly praised and recognized by the operation team. It has also been verified once again that domestic made innovative medical devices are strong enough to empower clinical diagnosis and treatment, and benefit a wide range of patients.

According to Professor Ma Changsheng, "As the only domestic made contact force catheter, TrueForce™ has good performance and meets clinical needs, and its launch is of great significance to break the monopoly of foreign technologies. Experience has proven that the contact force technology has an outstanding effect on training young operators and shortening their learning curve, improving ablation effectiveness, and reducing complications. In terms of the catheter itself, the operators do not need to change their procedural habits to make a smooth transition, and some features are more tailored to the operator's needs. Professor Sang Caihua notes, “The patient had paroxysmal atrial fibrillation combined with atrial flutter, with obvious symptoms and clear indications for AF catheter ablation. The possibility of the left atrial appendage thrombus in the patient was excluded, and the procedure was successfully completed in only about 30 minutes from the beginning of the left atrial reconstruction to the end. During the procedure, the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter was used smoothly in the overall procedure with high efficiency ablation. Generally speaking, the TrueForce™ Ablation Catheter performs well in terms of accuracy of anatomical reconstruction, stability of anatomical images, and precision of contact force value.
