Taraz, Kazakhstan—Shanghai MicroPort EP MedTech Co., Ltd. (“MicroPort EP”) announced to complete the first procedure in Kazakhstan with its three products, including the FireMagic™ Cardiac RF Ablation Catheter, the EasyFinder™ Steerable Curve Diagnostic Catheter, the PathBuilder™ Steerable Introducer and PathBuilder™ Transseptal Guiding Introducer and PathBuilder™ Transseptal Needle. The products were used in an atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) procedure by a team of electrophysiologists from Zhurek Hospital in Kazakhstan. This is the first procedure where MicroPort EP products were used in the Kazakhstan market since its entry into the country.

The FireMagic™ Cardiac RF Ablation Catheter and other products were subsequently used in four other procedures (including for premature ventricular contractions) performed by Dr.Roin Rekvava and Dr.Timur Ashirov at Zhurek Hospital. These products developed by MicroPort EP received favorable feedback from physicians in the team, who acknowledged their robust performance and ease of use during the procedures. 

Kazakhstan is a major hub along the “Belt and Road” with a population of nearly 20 million. A number of products independently developed by MicroPort EP were approved for marketing by the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan in May 2021. The completion of the first implantation marks the recognition of MicroPort EP products in the Kazakhstan market, and has laid a solid foundation for its expansion in Central Asia.
